SAHS Scholarship

Requirements of eligibility for next year's applicants are listed below.

Applicant must fulfill the following:

  • Be of Scandinavian/Nordic heritage
  • Be a US resident and living in either NJ, NY, CT, MA, RI, PA, DE, or MD
  • Be a member of or a son/daughter of a member of any recognized Scandinavian/Nordic association
  • Applied as a full-time student to an accredited two or four year college or university and enrolled in a degree program
  • As a high school student, must have a minimum of a 3.0 grade average during his/her high school career
  • Be a freshman entering college as a full-time student in 2011

Applicant must submit the following with his/her application:

  • Letters of reference to be submitted directly to the Scholarship Chairman
    * One from a guidance counselor
    * One from a teacher in applicant’s area of concentration
    * One from a person, other than a relative, of applicant’s choice
  • An essay in 500 words or less telling why applicant is proud of his/her Scandinavian/Nordic heritage
  • Academic transcript bearing school seal and submitted by high school official
