We met in September and discussed what we did and what we could do better, all suggestions are appreciated, bring ‘em to our next meeting. We have moved our event to a little later in June ( to Sat 6/26)  for the upcoming year. One reason was that the park was unavailable on that Saturday, another reason is that we want to avoid conflicts with other midsummer events – we’ll try it and see.

MEMBERSHIP

As we embark upon a new year at Scandinavian American Heritage Society (SAHS), filled with anticipation and excitement, we are writing to request your support as we prepare for the very festival that defines the Scandinavian tradition.  Yes, the weather is getting colder as the holidays roll quickly by us, but we hold the warmth of our Midsummer Celebration close to our hearts, using that as the inspiration and fuel to light the fire that keeps our organization alive with spirit.

With that said, we invite you help us bring the festival home this year, by making a tax deductible membership donation of $10-individual, $15-family;  that will help us explore new talents for the midsummer, bring forth expressive ideas that further promote our heritage, or most importantly, help us to fund our newest generation of college-bound Scandinavians through our scholarship fund.

May the experiences of this past summer stimulate your desire to bring back the magic of the maypole dances, festive music, delicious meals, and bright young faces in Vasa Park next year in June.  While the membership fee is a very small gift, larger gifts are also welcome as we can ensure you that they will be of significant value to supporting SAHS’s mission: To promote and foster cultural exchange within the Scandinavian  community through programs and education, while sharing our cultural heritage with  fellow Americans.
We hope that you will join us again to become a part of something unique, inspiring, and everlasting.

Sincerely,

Joe Zarnitz, President
Scandinavian American Heritage Society.
